Miss M and Howie

Every day, it seems The Fabulous Miss M has made a new discovery or learned to do something new. These past few days have been no exception. I love being the Mama to a 7-month-old, so curious about every sight and sound.

First, a nose has holes. Yes, she’s discovered her nostrils. No digging, as of yet. She just “fingers” them… for a good stretch of time. A great occupier of time, nostrils are.

Then, she fooled me. All of a sudden, she started sticking her tongue out and playing with it while making “Aah” sounds, as if a doctor had asked her to stick out her tongue. I assumed she had just discovered something new about her tongue, maybe the way it felt or something. Nope. Today, I found out what she’s really trying to do. I’ve been playing with her lately, using my hand on her mouth to make ‘Indian sounds.’ I had her on my lap tonight, and she grabbed my hand and pulled it to her mouth… her way of saying “C’mon Mama!” So our little game began. Soon my hand was drenched with sticky teething-baby drool, so I pulled it away to wipe it on my pants. Out comes her tongue, up goes her little fingers, and the “Aah” sounds begin. She has her own little way of making ‘Indian sounds.’ It was too adorable!!!

Oh, and my eyebrows. She pets them.

If this keeps up, I’ll never run out of funny tidbits to share.
I’ve begun work on Howie the House Fly, the first item of my Felt Fuzzies line. In fact, I’m working on my third design of him. Just trying to perfect him to a point that I’m satisfied. I’m my worst critic, of course, so I find myself examining each finished version until I find something I can improve upon. Then I start all over. I’m pretty happy with the way this third one is going, though, so it just may be the keeper. We’ll see, I suppose.

Dang computer and keyboard aren’t cooperating tonight. Grr.
