I managed to grab a Treasury after attending the Treasury Explosion Party… and explode it did. Just look at this pic Jared managed to grab at the time of the crash!
I was featured in the Etsy Teams are the Best treasury, compiled by fellow etsymom and etsyKids member, BeadedSocks. Much thanks to her for showcasing my Yellow Butterfly Hair Clip, perfect for infant and toddler hair. For more on Beaded Socks, visit her blog.
And as for my They’re RICH! treasury, I chose rich colors, stemming from a search of magenta items a couple of days ago. I tucked each of these beauties into my favorites and prayed they didn’t sell before I was able to use them (sorry!). We’ll see if it’s good enough to make the front page. *crossing fingers*
Visit both my and Beaded Socks’ treasuries, and please click on each item featured in both to give these wonderful artists the recognition they deserve. Who knows? You may stumble upon something you just *have* to have!
Oh, and for those potentially buying me Christmas gifts this year… open an Etsy account. It’ll come in handy for you.

My latest Felt Furry! I’ve named him Vaughn. Vaughn the Vampire. Vaughn “vants to suck you blood.” Judging by his bright red fangs, he may already have. Muah-ha-ha!!!
For more information on this perfect-for-Halloween hair clip, please visit butterflybows.etsy.com. Once there, you will see more pictures of Vaughn from different angles, and can purchase him if you fall in love.

Okay, first I have a new item to introduce. I named him Raoul the Ghoul. Isn’t he cute?
If you want more information on this item, would like to see more pictures of it, or make a purchase, please visit butterflybows.etsy.com.
I had someone buy 3 clips from me a couple of days ago. So grateful to T. in
Pennsylvania for being my first buyer in over a month. Hopefully this is a sign that the drought is over, and business will pick up for me. This is a picture of the items she bought. If you like what you see and want to make a similar purchase, please visit butterflybows.etsy.com.

I’ve definitely dropped the ball on posting here, now haven’t I? I need to work on that. Well, I guess I’ll introduce Jacques.

Jacques enjoys long walks in the graveyard and spooking unsuspecting children. He hangs out with the trouble-making black cats of the neighborhood, and his favorite song is Monster Mash.
For more information on Jacques, please visit butterflybows.etsy.com.
Jacques is officially the first item in my Felt Furryz line. I have more Halloween and fall themed items on the way… just need to sit down and get to work on them.

I have received another heart at Etsy! Yay!!! Another person likes my shop!
And since the person who hearted me has a shop of their own, I am gonna promote their shop here. In this blog. In this post.
Laurie’s Crafts sells bags and headbands made with beautifully patterned fabric. The newest items added to the shop are Trick and Treat tote bags — the perfect size for your little ones to carry all the goodies they receive on Halloween night. In addition to totes, this store also sells purses and wristlets. The prices on the items are wonderfully affordable. So, if you’re looking to treat yourself to a new bag or hair pretty, why not take a look at what this store has to offer? And keep in mind the holidays will be here before you know it, so if you like what you see, heart the shop. You may go back to find something perfect for you to give… or receive.
Oh, and this store has NO idea I’m doing this, tee hee. I just truly appreciate every heart I receive.

Ugh. Today’s my 27th birthday. Birthdays aren’t special for me, just like the day before and the day after. Big whoop. Meh.
I do love my birthday for one reason, and one reason only. The Perseid meteor shower!!! Yay! I love sitting outside the night of my birthday, into the wee hours of the morning of the 12th, just watching these amazing flashes of light shoot across the sky. This year, Sunday night is supposed to be the optimal viewing time because of the New Moon. So, guess how I will be spending the next couple of nights? So… if you live in an area where you get a clear view of the sky, I highly recommend viewing this yearly meteor shower. If not tonight, then definitely tomorrow night. The weather is warm, the skies are clear with a low moon, so the conditions are practically as perfect as they can be.
Well, my sister got me beau coup crafting supplies as a birthday present. Excitement!!! My mom and dad both gave me some cash, so that’ll probably go to more supplies for me… although I’m thinking of picking me out a birthday present off Etsy.
Oh, and yummy Mexican food for dinner tonight. Maybe I’ll fix a pitcher of margaritas to drink while watching tonight. Hmm….

Every day, it seems The Fabulous Miss M has made a new discovery or learned to do something new. These past few days have been no exception. I love being the Mama to a 7-month-old, so curious about every sight and sound.
First, a nose has holes. Yes, she’s discovered her nostrils. No digging, as of yet. She just “fingers” them… for a good stretch of time. A great occupier of time, nostrils are.
Then, she fooled me. All of a sudden, she started sticking her tongue out and playing with it while making “Aah” sounds, as if a doctor had asked her to stick out her tongue. I assumed she had just discovered something new about her tongue, maybe the way it felt or something. Nope. Today, I found out what she’s really trying to do. I’ve been playing with her lately, using my hand on her mouth to make ‘Indian sounds.’ I had her on my lap tonight, and she grabbed my hand and pulled it to her mouth… her way of saying “C’mon Mama!” So our little game began. Soon my hand was drenched with sticky teething-baby drool, so I pulled it away to wipe it on my pants. Out comes her tongue, up goes her little fingers, and the “Aah” sounds begin. She has her own little way of making ‘Indian sounds.’ It was too adorable!!!
Oh, and my eyebrows. She pets them.
If this keeps up, I’ll never run out of funny tidbits to share.
I’ve begun work on Howie the House Fly, the first item of my Felt Fuzzies line. In fact, I’m working on my third design of him. Just trying to perfect him to a point that I’m satisfied. I’m my worst critic, of course, so I find myself examining each finished version until I find something I can improve upon. Then I start all over. I’m pretty happy with the way this third one is going, though, so it just may be the keeper. We’ll see, I suppose.
Dang computer and keyboard aren’t cooperating tonight. Grr.

The other day, Miss M had her first encounter with a fly. Yup, a fly. At seven months old, she had never seen one until that day. And of course, this particular fly landed on her nose. What does a 7-month-old do when a fly lands on her nose, you ask? She wrinkles said nose, flutters her eyelashes, and opens her mouth to eat the fly. That’s right. My daughter is a Venus fly trap wannabe. She tilted her head back with mouth wide open, trying to get it into her mouth. It truly was an adorable sight to see. One of those why-do-I-not-keep-my-camera-up-my-ass moments. One day I’ll learn.
I am now an official member of Etsymom! Yay!
I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to display my Etsy Mini on this blog. So… I created another blog at Blogger. I will be making that my Etsy-only blog. To get to it, just click the ‘Butterfly Bows N More on Blogger’ link in my Blogroll.
Speaking of new links added to my Blogroll, there is one for Mommy Matter’s MySpace page as well. Kudos for member Rain on setting it up, and member Stina for providing the awesome background.
I promised the Dijon Chicken recipe to whomever reads this blog. We had it for dinner last night, served with rice. Deeee-lish! I love the stuff.
Dijon Chicken
4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 Tbsp. Dijon mustard, divided
1/2 c. flour
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 c. heavy cream
Pound the chicken between two sheets of waxed paper to a 1/4 inch thickness. Season with salt and pepper. Spread 2 Tbsp. of the mustard over both sides of the breasts. Put flour in shallow dish and coat both sides of chicken with flour. Melt butter in skillet over medium-high heat. Brown chicken breasts in butter for about 3 minutes per side. Remove. Pour cream into skillet and boil rapidly for 2 minutes, scraping up any bits stuck to the skillet. Remove from heat and stir in remaining 1 Tbsp. of mustard. Add more mustard and seasonings to taste.
You may also need to add more flour to the sauce to thicken it up. Sometimes I’ll have to, and sometimes I won’t. Serve the sauce over chicken. I also love the sauce over white rice. This recipe is super easy and oh-so delicious. If you try it out, please tell me what you think of it.

Ah, my poor, neglected blog. I had every intention of writing regularly. Truly, I did. But life happens, and intentions get pushed to the wayside of mommyhood and life’s little dramas. Things have died down somewhat, and I now have a sense of normalcy about me. Thank GOD! Now, if only I could get rid of these pesky headaches, but I’m sure they’re my fault for spending every night at the computer till the wee hours of the morning. Insomnia is fun, folks.
Mommy Matter has been a little slow, other than the wee bit of crazy drama that broke loose yesterday and today (Let it go already, please!), so it’s given me some time away from that addiction of mine. That, and the fact that I haven’t really been in the mood to jump right in, as of late. I must note, however, that member texasmom — moderator for the “Cooking With Rachel” board — liked my recipe for Dijon chicken so much that she posted it to share with the other members. Totally made my day! I will have to post it for y’all tomorrow because it’s after 1 a.m. now, and I really don’t feel like digging for it.
I’ve begun participating on the etsy forums, trying to bring traffic to my etsy shop. And I do believe I’m going to look into joining some of the groups to help promote it, also. I read on one forum topic that some have made sales due to interest created from a MySpace page dedicated to their goods. So tonight, I spent a chunk of time creating my own MySpace page for just that. I am really wondering if it will help drum up interest, or not. I hope it does. Could really use some sales right now not only for the money, but also for the confidence boost. I get all giddy when someone “Hearts” me or buys an item.
As for the always fabulous Miss M, since last posting, she has learned to sit by herself! And just today, she began to army crawl. I’m so sad over this. I really don’t want her to get bigger or grow up. I want her to stay my little cuddly baby. Her father, on the other hand, is through the moon with her development and is already talking of her walking. He thinks having more kids will make up for my baby growing up. He obviously knows nothing, LOL.
